Sizing Chart

For Violin and Viola, using a tape measure, place the start at the left side of the student's neck. Have the student extend left arm straight. The measurement should be taken at the middle of the student's hand.

Violin:

23 1/2 in. or more = 4/4
22 1/4 in. to 23 1/2 in. = 3/4
20 1/2 in. to 22 1/4 in. = 1/2
18 1/2 in. to 20 1/2 in. = 1/4
17 in. to 18 1/2 in. = 1/8
15 1/2 in. to 17 in. = 1/10
14 in. to 15 1/2 in. = 1/16

Viola:

26 in. or more = 16"
25 in. to 25 3/4 in. = 15"
23 1/4 in. to 25 in. = 14"
22 1/4 in. to 23 1/4 in. = 13"
20 1/2 in. to 22 1/4 in. = 12"

Cello:

Student's height
61" or more = 4/4
57" to 61" = 3/4
53" to 57" = 1/2
48" to 53" = 1/4

Bass:

Student's height
61" or taller = 3/4 (full size)
57" to 61" = 1/2
52" to 57" = 1/4
